  10.     Each issue of TI contains well over  5O  text files, modules, samples
  11.     etc. all of  which  were  written by readers of TI, readers like you.
  12.  
  13.     Basically, we're after  more  writers,  more reviewers, more artists,
  14.     more composers, what we're actually after, is your contribution.
  15.  
  16.     We've outlined  the  different   types  of contributions we'd like to
  17.     receive below but if you've come up with something different, send it
  18.     in!

  21.                                TEXT SUBMISSIONS
  22.                               ==================

  24.     If you're going  to  write  an  article, news item, review, whatever;
  25.     we'd like it as an ASCII  text  file  on a disk please.  This (if you
  26.     are not  literate in  these  matters)  is  exactly  what  almost  all
  27.     word processors output  their  text as  so this should be no problem.
  28.     If in doubt, just send  us  any  old  text  file  and  we'll  sort it
  29.     all out for you. There's no need  to  add colour or justify it if you
  30.     don't know how  or  simply can't be bothered,  we can do that all for
  31.     you.

  33.      Examples of text submissions:

  35.     NEWS - If you know something that we don't,  drop us a line and we'll
  36.            spread the word.  We're  interested  in literally anything you
  37.            think newsworthy,  check out any of the TI news columns to see
  38.            what we mean...  If the news item is only  a  few  lines long,
  39.            just jott it down on a piece of paper.

  41.     PROBLEMS - If  you  have  a  problem  with  OctaMED  or  the Amiga or
  42.                whatever, share it! Problems  sent  to  the  usual address
  43.                normally get answered in the next available issue.  Again,
  44.                if it's short, put it on a piece of paper if you'd prefer.

  46.     TUTORIALS - If you think there is one thing  that you know more about
  47.                 about  than   other  people (MIDI,  Sampling  techniques,
  48.                 Synthsounds,  Disk  construction etc.)  then  we'd love a
  49.                 tutorial  (or  even  tutorial  series).  People  such  as
  50.                 Michael  Richmond  and  Kevan  Craft who have provided us
  51.                 with tutorial series' in  the  past  have gone on to much
  52.                 greater  things  and  found  the  whole  experience  very
  53.                 worthwhile, why not have a go???

  55.     FLASHBACK - If you've  read  any  of  the  Flashback  articles  (they
  56.                 started in TI5), you'll get the idea, so  why  not have a
  57.                 go yourself? Pick  any  album you want, hell, even change
  58.                 the concept if you  really  want  to but let us know what
  59.                 music  has  inspired  you...   Check   out  the  previous
  60.                 Flashback  articles  that  have  appeared  and see if you
  61.                 think you could do better...

  63.     EXPERIENCES - OK, so it sounds a bit risque,  but what we really mean
  64.                   is interesting things about YOU. Remember Chris Wrights
  65.                   `memoirs' (TI2  and  TI4)  or  Reg  Simpson's `Medling'
  66.                   (TI7) articles? We want to hear how YOU use OctaMED and
  67.                   more importantly, why you use OctaMED...

  69.     REVIEWS - If you've got  the  best  PD  utility, samples CD, sampling
  70.               cartridge, whatever; why  not  tell  everyone how great you
  71.               think it is, or if you've  brought  some  rubbish disk or a
  72.               MIDI interface which  doesn't  use  standard MIDI inputs or
  73.               something,  WE  WANT  TO  KNOW!  Also, if  you've  produced
  74.               something  that  you'd like to be reviewed in TI, just send
  75.               it in to the normal  address  and we'll  do  our bestest to
  76.               find the right person for the job...

  78.     MODSPOT - If you think you  could  tackle  one of the hardest jobs in
  79.               the business, drop us a line and  say so and we'll see what
  80.               we can do...

  83.                               MODULE SUBMISSIONS

  86.     It is the groups  opinion  that  modules,  once completed, should not
  87.     simply be kept on a disk  in a drawer  gathering dust. Modules should
  88.     be heard by  other  people,  and  TI  is  one  of the BEST places for
  89.     this. Submitting  your  modules to TI  (even  if  they do not get the
  90.     accolade of appearing  on  the  disk  itself)  means  that you gain a
  91.     very wide audience for your work  and  basically,  gives a meaning to
  92.     all the  hard  work  and  effort  you  spend  producing tunes on your
  93.     Amiga.  Every   module  we  receive  is  entered  in  to  our  module
  94.     library and  from  that, we select tunes to be reviewed in our module
  95.     review column ModSpot, the  BEST  tunes  we receive normally  make it
  96.     onto TI itself. Go on, why not  send  a few tunes in... WHAT HAVE YOU
  97.     GOT TO  LOSE???  Generally,  we  ask  you  to send your modules to us
  98.     UNCRUNCHED  but   if   you  must  crunch  them,  please  do  so  with
  99.     Powerpacker. We've noticed an increase in the number of SFCD crunched
  100.     modules we've  received  lately.  Please,  please, please don't do it
  101.     because we have to load all  these into OctaMED and then re-save them
  102.     out again... if you'd like  the  chance  to  get  your music heard by
  103.     everyone, please play by the rules...

  108.                                    PICTURES

  111.     If you  wish to  draw  a opening   screen for TI or design an Address
  112.     screen or  want to  draw a picture   that  relates  to an article you
  113.     have written or whatever,  please only  use  either  LowRes or MedRes
  114.     and definately no  more  than 32  colours, preferably 16.  Sorry, but
  115.     we can only use IFF piccys (like  the  ones  DPaint saves out). We're
  116.     simply not into GIFFS, JPEGS, CLOTHESPEGS and what have you.

  119.                                    GENERAL

  122.     Once you've completed  your  piece of  work,  stick  it on a disk and
  123.     send it to the usual  address  (below).  Please   do  not `pack' your
  124.     files  as  we can do this at the `office'  using  the same packer for
  125.     all the files on the disk.

  127.      Once you've completed your piece of work, simply submit it to:

  138.     We promise that we really do listen/read/look at  EVERYTHING  that is
  139.     sent in and although we obviously  cannot  guarantee  to publish your
  140.     work (because that would be  silly  of  us), we  can't  remember ever
  141.     not doing so... Because of  the  sheer  number of modules we receive,
  142.     I'm afraid we can't make comment  on  them  outsides  the confines of
  143.     the magazine but if you  would  like  us  to  confirm  that they have
  144.     been  received  and   subsequently  placed  in  out  library,  please
  145.     enclose an  SAE or  IRC  and wait a long time  for a responce because
  146.     logging modules  does  take  a  hell  of  a long time... Articles and
  147.     pictures are less of a problem because we don't recieve that many and
  148.     we  should  be  able  to  get  in  touch  and thank you personally as
  149.     soon as we have read or looked at your work but again, please enclose
  150.     an SAE if you definitely want a reply.

  152.     Obviously everyone gets  full  credit  for  their  work in TI and any
  153.     wishes of the author will be compiled with.

  156.     messages, letters, comments and furry animals.
